at the National Women's Education Center (NWEC), March 7-9, 2025 
The theme is 
Women’s Matters: Women Matter

Wondering what WELL involves? Take a look at the previous wonderful weekend of women held in March 2024! It was our second post-pandemic gathering and a resounding success: 2024 Program 
We aim for a bilingual retreat, so presentations can be in English or Japanese.  ​

Call for Presentations ​

WELL is accepting proposals (in both English or Japanese) on a wide range of topics pertaining to women for the Women Matter: Women’s Matters 2025 conference. We welcome academic presentations geared toward a general audience and presentations of general interest with topics such as achieving balance, setting goals, or celebrating achievements. People who can lead workshops related to physical movement, art, and skill development are also invited to submit a proposal. Keeping in mind WELL’s original goals when it was established 30 years ago, we also encourage student presenters and early-career academics to present their research (related to language learning/teaching, social issues, women’s issues, and so on) in a safe and welcoming space. We hope that WELL 2025 will have something for everyone. ​

Information on the Keynote speaker will be made available on our website​. The keynote speaker is To Be Decided, your suggestions on interesting speakers are welcome. ​

Presentation Guidelines ​

The official languages for presentations are English and/or Japanese. Sessions can be in either language and run from 30 to 90 minutes, which can include Q&A periods. Please prepare an abstract description of your presentation for inclusion in the WELL Program using the following guidelines. ​

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstracts should be sent through this link: ​2025 Submit Proposal for WELL. Abstracts should be no longer than 150 words for presentations in English or 400 characters for presentations in Japanese. Please submit bilingual titles and abstracts. The abstract submission deadline is September 30, 2024. If you have not received a notification of acceptance by December, please contact WELL. ​

Venue Information ​

National Women’s Education Center (NWEC) / 国立女性教育会館  
This conference is held at NWEC in western Saitama’s beautiful Ranzan area (https://www.welljapan.org/well-retreat-location.html). The fee is affordable (less than 15,000 yen total per person typically) and includes 2-night accommodation. The meeting details will be sent to registered participants a few weeks prior to the retreat.

 プレゼンテーション募集

WELLでは、「女性たちの諸問題2025」会議に向けて、女性に関する幅広いトピックに関する発表（英語または日本語）を募集しています。WELL2025の会議では、一般の聴衆を対象とした学術的な発表や、バランスの達成、目標の設定、功績の称え方などをテーマとした一般的な関心のある発表を歓迎します。また身体運動、芸術、能力開発に関するワークショップを指導できる方も、ぜひご応募ください。また、30年前に設立されたWELLの当初の目標を念頭に置き、学生発表者や若手研究者にも、安全で歓迎される空間で自分の研究（言語学習や 教育、社会問題、女性問題などに関するもの）を発表することをお勧めします。私たちは、WELL 2025がすべての人にとって有意義なものになることを願っています。

抄録はWELL Japan 抄録投稿フォームよりお送りください。 要約は、英語でのプレゼンテーションの場合は 150 ワード以内、日本語のプレゼンテーションの場合は 400 文字以内にしてください。 バイリンガルのタイトルと要約を提出することをお勧めします。 抄録提出締め切りは2024年9月30日です。12月までに受理通知が届かない場合は、WELLまでご連絡ください。

このカンファレンスは、埼玉県西部の美しい嵐山地区にあるNWEC（https://www.welljapan.org/well-retreat-location.html）で開催されます。料金は2泊の宿泊が含まれており、お手頃な料金（通常1人あたり合計15,000円未満）です。ミーティングの詳細は、リトリートの数週間前に登録された参加者に送信されます。
